Breaking News : Corruption In Sarawak

Al-Jazeera reported from Global Witness an undercover video (interview) with who was claimed to be "Cousins of a prominent politician" in Sarawak and how lands were given away to the reporter (undercover as "investors").
Watch the Video I recorded here from Al-Jazeera at 10.45am March 19, 2013.

And this is the video taken from Global Witness Youtube. Awesome.

Teachers Asked To Reveal Political Affliation

I am sure some of you had read about how some headmaster or more senior school staffs are asked to secretly categorise the teachers under him/her with a "black, grey or white" list. When this happened in mid-March, where it was reported in the newspaper.
From here. But check the consistency by the Minister later in the post.
What prompted me to post this up was because i saw a posting in MalaysiaKini about how "survey" are used to check on teacher's voting status.

I posted something similar and most brushed off the notion that the letter was actually photoshopped. The report is still in Internet cache. I found it here again.

And you know what is the beauty of Internet? You see, it rarely forget, and when some minister that denied it in a press conference suddenly confirm what he denied is true, you know you either have to vote that minister out, or change the government. Enough of hoodwinking by these "elitist" group.
Compare this to the MSM posting above. Never trust a crybaby.

Fast forward two weeks later, i received an email from a friend, whom the sister and her husband are teachers. Here is the link from the email to the directive to the teacher handling data, to fill up the forms.
Unless you are a teacher given that link specifically, you won't be able to find the link.
Here is the link for verification. and what with the 2Malaysia's logo? Is this what our teachers are trained for now?
This is how they are tracking down the teachers - by asking a specific teacher (Guru Data) to fill up the excel form below, and then using all the info obtained, to run the check on SPR.gov.my to check their voting area and constituency.
And this is the instruction specific for the Guru Data to obtain all the information needed above.
The above two form can be obtained from the website i stated above. I suggest that you be my witness and go download them to verify that the above ain't made up just to spike the parties involved. There were other instructions too, and that involve the Guru Data to collect the teacher's siblings and verify their voting status the same way. Unfortunately, that portion of email to me was in gibberish due to my friend's inability to move the data to my email.
I have voted three times since turning legal voting age. I recalled that each time i was at the centre, when i present my IC, i have my name crossed out on the master list in pen and a pencil is used to write some numbers on the electoral roll. It did not occur to me until later than the numbers could be used to track or mark you as a voter. So with an eraser come GE13!
Now that you are aware of this like i am, be informed and don't get hoodwinked.

Changing Of Voting Address Part 4

I received good news from SPR on March 29, 2012 and i am now officially managed to change my voting address to my desired area.  Took almost 8 months but if this is what is due to you and for you, i say fight for it. It might be ONE vote, you never know that ONE vote will change how things will happen. As Malaysian, we all should take charge and remind those voted who the boss are.
I was communicating with one of the SPR officer that directly emailed me. Provided my Borang A per requested and after two more times of "harassing", she finally realised that i meant business and got my address change done.
I can understand my case might not be the only one. But with that many civil servants in the country, i was expecting faster turnaround time on response. In comparison, an online shop i frequent has about 4 staffs responding to complains and they never fail to respond to me within 48hours - as stated in their KPI. Mind you, this online shop caters to shoppers around the world. How is that for comparison especially when services and money are exchanged in good faith?
Anyway, on email, i am officially a voter in Damansara Utama area. Which is what i wanted for the past year.
So, i was told that the details will be included in the first quarter voter electoral roll. Which is fantastic. As with everything government, always give them up to 5 working days to verify anything. And i did exactly that. So, i went to SPR.gov.my to check on my status yesterday (April 4, 2012), and guess what?
Yeap, at least now i am a "Verified Voter". I will ensure that the email i received will be printed out should the General Election happens within this year or before the changes to the electoral roll per SPR website is completed. For me, the email is good enough evidence and i shall hold them accountable for that.

MBPJ Councillor Should Obey Law Too

It is often funny when a people with authority or in power doesn't sing the song they teaches or walk the talk they preaches. Then it goes from good to bad when one or two elected representatives mis-used their privileges and started to forget that they are often monitored and people will judge them because they are the public figure.
What is wrong?
In area like Section 14, or Jalan Semangat in Petaling Jaya which is about 5km or less away from the Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya or MBPJ HQ (in States), you would always expect enforcement to be tip top with officers going around summoning drivers that do not display appropriate valid parking tickets. After all, in places like Section 14, traffic can be heavy and parking is a nightmare working day, even on weekends sometimes.
Parking at Tow Zone? What's that crest in front?
So, when tax paying, rate paying citizen like me have to go around 5 rounds, sometimes up to 30 minutes to get a LEGIT parking spot, it will offend me if i see a car that parks where it shouldn't be. While there is NO YELLOW line if one wants to argue, the car is parked clearly at a TOWING ZONE (Zon Tunda).
I did not make up stories yah
I really don't care if someone else will want to do this - as they will get their punishment via summon if the ever vigilant officers are making their rounds, but it get really really unforgiving when an elected member or Ahli Majlis (Councillor) were to do this. Displaying the MBPJ Emblem with the AHLI MAJLIS words on it sort of gives him/her license to break law?
The emblem was not photoshopped to frame the innocent
You see, when the previous government under Barisan Nasional was ruling Selangor, people were screaming about inequality and stuff like that. So when Pakatan Rakyat won Selangor, people obviously expected changes. MBPJ are notorious for being double standard with their execution of laws. I am sure many of us has seen how people driving bigger cars (and often expensive cars) managed to park as they like - as afterall, tow truck enforcers will ONLY target smaller more ordinary middle class cars. It is completely OK to park as you like as long as you have the MONEY and TITLE.
Strategically placed stickers above the roadtax to "Inform"enforcement officers not to summon - I AM COUNCILLOR, CAN'T YOU SEE?
I then tweeted this and tagged both the Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and MP Teresa Kok. I don't think they will bother with these "small fry" councillor flouting the laws. But rest assured, the rakyat like me are observing!
MBPJ and the Councillors - please BUCK UP!

Politics: Suspended For Not Attending Function?

I came across a posting in a local forum and found this entry a lil unsettling.
This was written by a blogger that post mostly on politics. While I am not certain of his (political) affiliation, the entry was rather unsettling.
Click on the photo above to enlarge.
I always try to be impartial and try to see things from different angle. But when certain things like these with hard evidence (i supposed the letterhead is not fabricated, not the rest of the content of the letters), it will make you think what is actually happening in this country.
The letter read, if you are not able to read Bahasa Malaysia (shame on you if you claim to be a Malaysian!), it document that:
Sir (imported fruit seller plying his/her trade at a agriculture market (Pasar Tani) at Taman Dengkil Jaya ), you failed to attend a function or program where the Minister for Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Noh Omar, with the local entrepreneur of the agriculture market in central region on September 19, 2011.
It was regretted that your rental at the above agriculture market is suspended on October 20, October 27, November 3 and November 10, 2011.
Signed off : Mansor Omar (Director of FAMA Selangor)
If the above is true, then this is an abuse of power. Imagine if you are a trader that your livelihood depends on the day you are out doing business being suspended because you did not attend the function.
Perhaps, the FAMA authority has warned the above trader a few times. Perhaps, the trader was not feeling well on September 19, 2011 (it's Monday by the way). Perhaps he had an accident on that day or someone in the family needed some medical attention.
In my humble opinion, unless that trader has been suspended because he failed to pay his rent. Suspended because he/she has record of selling substandard goods. Suspended because he/she is of suspicious characters with records, then it's justified. Else...the above suspension is uncalled for.
Does Noh Omar knows about this? Does the Selangor Government knows about this? What kind of culture are we trying to ingrain into these Napoleons that is elected and being paid by taxpayers?
Think about it while the Budget 2012 is being presented and the General Election is coming your way.
