Finishers could win a guaranteed slot at Standard Chartered KL Marathon for free
 Kuala Lumpur, 14th May 2013 – Coinciding with this year’s National Youth Day celebration, the country’s oldest bank will once again be organising the Standard Chartered Fun Run 2013. The run will be held on 26 May at Dataran Gemilang, Precint 4, Putrajaya as a precursor to the Standard Chartered KL Marathon to take place in June. Runners who finished the run will stand a chance to win a guaranteed slot to run at Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2014 for free!

Standard Chartered's Country Head of Corporate Affairs Liz Kamaruddin said, “Standard Chartered Fun Run is a new and exciting way to enjoy sports and to stay healthy. In support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we hope this year’s event would be more exciting than ever as we continue to motivate the youths to live a healthy lifestyle”. 

The race that offers 8km and 4km race categories is open to everyone between the ages of 15 to 40 .The closing date for registration is 17 May or upon registration of 3,000 runners, whichever is earlier. In 2012, the event drew more than 8,000 runners.

Last year, participants dressed in themes to spice up the event. Down the years, the event has turned into a fun filled affair with a glimpse of glamour, quirkiness, and mystery as runners donned dazzling costumes.

The run creates a fun and healthy environment in which members of the public are given the opportunity to interact and strengthen their relationship through the run. It also offers a chance for family, friends and even organisations to join together to compete as one.
